The connector that disconnected

Well, it’s an interesting thing to work with stuff you haven’t seen before. Especially when you throw things in the mix which makes it a little harder to get it working. Configured the beloved connector to connect to the object server through the firewall. It does connect. For a while. It just decides to take a break every now and then. Filed a case with Microsoft to get some help since I haven’t worked on Axapta and had tried everything I could come up with. After a few days of emails and phonecalls, screenshots and logfiles, it turns out that it is correctly configured. And the behaviour is “by design”. That feels perfect. So now I had to configure SNMPc in combination with a scheduled restart since it dies every now and then… If it’s supposed to be connected, make sure it stays connected. Maybe Microsoft could give Nokia a call?
